Missouri links

Missouri (16-4, 4-2) is set to tip-off against Texas A&M (15-6, 4-3)  tonight at 8 p.m. at Mizzou Arena and will be shown on ESPNU. It should be a tight, physical game, reminiscent of Missouri’s 74-68 win against Kansas State earlier in the season. There was a ridiculous 56 fouls total in that game. However, to fill-in that four-and-a-half hour gap between now and when Missouri tries to extend its homecourt win streak to 33, here are some links about the Tigers to keep you busy. Enjoy:

  • Missouri guard Marcus Denmon has been the most consistent player on offense, especially when the Tigers were shooting 35 percent as a team in Big 12 play.
  • Missouri is ranked as an eighth seed for the NCAA Tournament by ESPN’s bracketologist, Joe Lunardi. Missouri would play Charlotte in Milwaukee, which is the second closest the Tigers could be to Columbia. Although these rankings really don’t mean anything it is the most accurate predictor to how the NCAA officials will decide.
  • ESPN also has the Tigers as a bubble team, or a team that is not guaranteed a spot in the NCAA Tournament. A win against Texas A&M will go a long way in boosting Missouri’s tournament resume.
  • Here is an excellent article by Missourian reporter Alex Ruppenthal that goes into the life of a die hard Missouri fan. If you’ve ever been to a game you may have heard her ear splitting scream.
